Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

May 2020, effective immediate.

As the current situation regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to develop, JAA Training Organisation (JAA TO) accommodates all its stakeholders to the best ability and by following the world’s highest recommended guidelines and procedures. Upon recommendation of the UN specialised agencies the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and World Health Organisation (WHO) as well as the Dutch government, JAA TO adheres to the recommended protective measures and is closely monitoring the global situation through routine exchange with the responsible local authorities in the Netherlands and active news media watch.

As a result of the latest local developments, JAA TO is enforcing newest recommendations by the Dutch Ministry of Health which directs the closure of all educational settings due to measures taken regarding the COVID-19 situation. The governmental directives have been recently extended and JAA TO headquarters remain closed until 1 June 2020.

Classroom training courses at the headquarters in Schiphol-Rijk scheduled during May will NOT run – unless virtual delivery mode is available (see more below). The headquarters, including our international restaurant, is closed during this period.

JAA TO continues to monitor the developments very closely. For any updates regarding your scheduled training and business continuity check our various online channels or contact our Training Department. Although our headquarters will be closed, JAA TO staff and instructors remain operational and will be ready to respond to your email on the same day within CET working hours.

Resuming Classroom Training

With the current recommendations by the Dutch government, educational activities are set to resume 2 June. JAA TO is closely monitoring the developments and will decide whether classroom training activities will in principle restart from this date onwards as scheduled, as the headquarter facilities opens for business again. Please pay special attention to the social media and website updates as course schedules can change.

For the sake of containing the spread of the virus and with general public health concerns in mind, we would urge individuals either traveling from high-risk coronavirus zones, who are not feeling well or who are displaying signs characteristic of a cold (running nose, cough, fever) not to travel to us but instead contact us to discuss moving the seat to a later session or possibly attending training courses virtually. The same applies if an individual falls ill during the course of a training, in which case they should return to their hotel and together we will discuss the best way to continue attendance.

JAA TO is closely monitoring the situation and will adjust to local authorities’ recommendations if necessary. JAA TO business resumes in principle as scheduled on 2 June until further notice. However, JAA TO Staff remains operational working remotely and are ready to respond to your email; any questions, please contact us at training@jaato.com.
